What type of resources do you need to be successful? The answer is clearly some. However, I wonder if we do not consistently set our threshold for “enough” too high. As Anthony Robbins said in a TED Talk “The problem is never resources, but resourcefulness.”
As it relates to tools / resources:
- How many do you need?
- Which ones do you need?
This is a classic pendulum problem. The pendulum is almost always on the “too little” or “too many” side of a spectrum. However, in modern first world society, it is almost universally pushed to the “too many” side. Therefore, it is time to pull the pendulum back in the right direction.
Given that creativity and innovation thrive with constraints, it may be time to scrutinize our desire to accumulate and throttle back. That will allow us to tap into that deep well of creativity waiting inside of us.
I am going to continually work to minimize what I need / have. Join me. It feels great!
Just my opinion. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
