I have taught and practiced time management for many, many years. There are a lot of best practices to learn and traps to stay away from. However, there is one piece of advice that I find myself giving over and over again.
The most important circumstance for us to practice solid time management principles is when pressure is at its highest. When that happens, our body and mind scream for us to speed up and exhibit a bias for action.
However, that is the time when it is most crucial to avoid the waste that comes when we are not mindful. My advice is when your body and mind start screaming Go!… take a deep breath, slow down, think, put together a simple plan and, then, execute. You will be much more effective.
Therefore, make your mind up right now when you are present and at your best. The next time that you have that overwhelming urge to speed up; slow down.
Just my opinion. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
