Does power corrupt those that have it or does power simply reveal the character of the person in possession of it?
We have been lead to believe that it corrupts. “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”- Sir John Dalberg-Acton
However, I think that it is far more likely that power simply unmasks the imperfections underneath. Not everyone that gets power runs amok.
