I have always thought that there were some clear choices about how to lead. You could lead people as people or choose to see the people that you lead as a means to reach your objectives.
It isn’t really a leadership choice at all. You see, people do not follow people willingly that see them as a tool. Paraphrasing John Maxwell; A leader without people that voluntarily follow them (with or without a title) is just out taking a nice walk.
Lead people as human beings. Remember that they have the same desire for happiness and fulfillment that you do. Tap into that understanding to unlock the best future for all of you. That is true leadership.
