A Deeper Exploration of the Gap

“Between stimulus and response, there is a gap.  In that space is the power to choose our response.  In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”- Victor Frankl

It is such an important concept.  The wise use of this gap.  Yet, it is a habit that we can spend a lifetime trying to adopt consistently.

I struggle every day.  Especially, with the people that I love and am the most comfortable with.  With them, I have the comfort and leeway to not worry so much about the ramifications of every word or pause.

Many times, I have reacted to something that they say or do before I even realized I had a choice.  So, back to the drawing board.  And so it goes…  I work on mindfulness…  I fail…  I work on mindfulness…  I fail.

The punchline is that failure is the opportunity.  That is where the growth comes.  Doubling down… trying again…  over and over.  What an opportunity!  What a gift!  Join me back at the drawing board.
