I am at the age where people generally buy boats, RVs or vacation homes. It can often (but not always) look to me like the continuation of a long run on the consumer treadmill. The belief seems to be that the next purchase will make us happy. Then, we adapt to that purchase and hope that the next one will bring us happiness.
Instead, I am pursuing a route of contentment, and choosing to focus on all that I already have. I find that makes me happier. The pursuit was always unfulfilling. However, contentment feels great!
Just my opinion. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
