Is Doing Something Better Than Doing Nothing?

In most decisions, doing nothing is a valid option.  However, that is not to say that doing nothing is the right, or even a good, choice.  And, for some problems, doing nothing is a horrible decision.

For instance, climate change or US healthcare reform are problems that, in my mind, must be acted upon to fix.  There are many more.

“In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do.  The worst thing you can do is nothing.”- Theodore Roosevelt

My bigger problem is that on some of these issues there are people that will be content to do nothing themselves, while criticizing the change makers.  That is not helpful.  Offer constructive changes, propose your own alternative plan or cheer for the brave ones that make the attempt.  There is not a do nothing, but criticize the other guy, path for honorable people.

Just my opinion.  What do you think?  Let me know in the comments.
