Are You Prepared for Learning?

I have always loved the quote, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”  It has been attributed to many people including the Buddha, the theosophists and Lao Tzu.  I am not certain who said it, but I know that it is dripping with wisdom.

Humans do not always learn because a teacher says, “it is time to learn.”  Instead, we learn when the conditions within us are ripe for that learning.

Countless times in my life I have dismissed an idea only to later see it as profound wisdom.  The idea did not change…  I did.

Is it possible to prepare yourself, rather than wait for the right circumstances to arise spontaneously?  I suspect it is.  The key would seem to be being open minded.  When presented with a new idea…  wonder about the possibilities….  Do not let your preconceived notions intrude until you have thoroughly examined the possible wisdom in the new idea.

Just my opinion.  What do you think?  Let me know in the comments.
